Classroom Consultant Program
Classroom Consultants (CCs) volunteer within a class for prospective international TAs for 5 or 10 sessions.
Conversation Facilitator Program
Conversation Facilitators (CFs) volunteer within VISAS Café to promote and enhance group discussion with ELs and other VISAS participants, 1.5 hours per week.
ESL Assistant Program
ESL Assistants (ESLAs) volunteer within UVA ESL classes for graduate students, 1 hour per week.
Language Consultant Program
Language Consultants (LCs) partner with 1-2 English learners for conversation & cultural exchange, 1 hour per week.
Media Consultants Program
Media Consultants (MCs) use multimedia skills (photography, graphic design, social media, interviewing) to develop content and outreach for VISAS, approximately 1.5 hours per week with occasional event attendance.
Teaching Consultant Program
Teaching Consultants (TCs) observe and support a new international TA, approximately 10-12 hours total, throughout the semester.
Workplace English Program
Workplace English Partners (WP-EPs) and Workplace Language Consultants (WP-LCs) partner with a UVA Facilities employee using a curriculum for English practice, 1.5 hours per week.
