VISAS has a special announcement: this month, our social event will be a FREE movie night!
Join your VISAS friends for an evening of popcorn and fun at Newcomb Theater, which will be screening Green Book on Saturday, Nov. 17 at 8pm before it hits theaters.
This comedy-drama film is about Jamaican-American pianist Don Shirley’s tour of the Deep South in the 1960s. In need of protection and a driver, Shirley recruits a bouncer from the Bronx. The two form an unexpected friendship during an era of segregation and intense racism.
VISAS participants will meet up before the show so we can find seating together. See our Facebook page for real-time updates and more information.

A big thank you to everyone who came out to this year’s Trick-or-Treating on the Lawn! We’re also very grateful for those of you who helped make the beautiful posters ahead of time during VISAS Cafe. It was great to share the VISAS love (and candy, of course) with you!
Do you love UVa’s Halloween tradition of Trick-or-Treating on the Lawn? Do you love VISAS? Well, now you’ll have the opportunity to combine the two!
This year, VISAS Cafe on Wednesday, Oct. 31st will be held on the Lawn so we can take part in the Halloween merriment. Come find the VISAS blanket on the West Range between 5-6pm to hang out with your VISAS buddies, dig into yummy candy, and enjoy fun conversations in a festive environment!

A BIG thank you to all of our volunteers for a productive Orientation. We all enjoyed coming together for our Fall 2018 VISAS International Mixer!
Looking ahead: VISAS Cafe begins this Wednesday, Sept. 26 from 5-6pm in Nau 342. All VISAS international participants and volunteers are invited to join us for an hour of delicious snacks and engaging English conversation every Wednesday thru Dec. 5th (excluding Thanksgiving week).
