VISAS Comes to an End for Fall 2016

We would just like to thank everyone for a wonderful fall semester! Please take a few moments to complete your program evaluations (received by email) before Monday, December 5th. These will help us make VISAS even better moving forward and we value your feedback.

To our learners: We hope that you have found VISAS to be a helpful, welcoming resource for you and we continue to be inspired by your progress.

To our volunteers: Thank you for your commitment to this program. It is your dedication and kindness that makes VISAS truly exceptional.

We hope that you have a restful Winter Break and very happy holiday season. We will be in contact in early January with information on how to continue with VISAS next semester. In the meantime, we offer our sincere thanks again and send best wishes for the New Year!

Enjoy Thanksgiving Break!

No VISAS Programs Wednesday through Sunday

Thanksgiving is coming up next Thursday! Because students will be leaving U.Va. and heading home, there will be no VISAS programs from Wednesday 11/23 through Sunday 11/27. VISAS Café will not meet during that time. We hope that everyone enjoys a restful break and happy Thanksgiving! We at VISAS are certainly thankful for our wonderful learners and volunteers.

A Note from the VISAS Staff

With just about a month left of VISAS, we just wanted to thank you for all of your dedication and hard work! For many of you, participating in this program involves leaving your comfort zone and trying something new. We at VISAS hope it has been worthwhile and that you have benefitted from the experience. We remain committed to bringing people together to learn from each other and celebrate our differences. This is a program where everyone can speak and be heard. Let’s make this last month the best one yet!

Happy Halloween from VISAS!

VISAS celebrates at Tuesday Night Café

VISAS wishes everyone a safe, fun, and happy Halloween! We encourage all volunteers and learners to stop by Trick or Treating on the Lawn today from 4:00-6:00 PM. The Lawn will be full of professors, families, and students in costume.

Our interns Frank and Hope led VISAS Café in making paper Jack-O-Lanterns to celebrate! This week, we’ll be enjoying Mediterranean snacks and talking about Elections from 5-6 in Nau 242. Drop by and join us!
