Thank you for making VISAS such a welcoming experience at UVA!  We have had another wonderful year of cultural exchanges and language learning thanks to all of you!  We will be in contact again in late August to invite you to continue with VISAS programming in fall 2018!  Happy Summer!

Join VISAS to celebrate the end of the year at our annual Garden Party on Wednesday, May 2, from 2-3pm in Lower Garden V! Volunteers, interns, and international participants will come together to enjoy light refreshments and conversation. The garden is located on the west side of the lawn, closest to Newcomb Hall.

We hope you are able to join us for one of our favorite events. Whether you can attend or not, please fill out the form you received via email. This form will allow you to thank your VISAS partners for their work this semester.

VISAS is making a short film that portrays the dynamic voices of our volunteers and international participants. We would appreciate it if you could provide us with your thoughts and memories working with our program and with your partners.

We reserved the One-Button Studio in New Cabell Hall 277 on Thursday, April 19 from 2-5 pm and would love it if you can stop by and share your story with us! You can come by yourself or with your partners.

Challah for Hunger is an awesome organization at UVa that raises money for hunger relief by baking and selling challah, a traditional (and delicious) Jewish bread. VISAS will be going to help bake some challah next Tuesday, April 17th 4-6pm at the Brody Jewish Center (1824 University Cir, Charlottesville, VA 22903) and we want you to join us!

This will be an awesome opportunity to get to know other VISAS volunteers and participants, cook, chat, and learn about food, all while giving back to the community! This is also a great activity for LC partners to do during the week. If you want to join us, please fill out this short form so we know how many people to expect. We will send a follow-up email with more information.

This is going to be a lot of fun, and we would love to show Challah for Hunger how excited we are to volunteer with them by bringing a large and enthusiastic group! They loved our help last time and are excited to host us again! Email phs5eg@virginia.edu with any questions.

Spring Break is this week! Since many students and staff leave U.Va. for the week, there will be no VISAS programs from Saturday, March 3rd through Sunday, March 11th. VISAS Café will not meet on Wednesday the 7th. We hope that everyone has a fun and relaxing break. For any learners wishing to practice during this time, we recommend that you check out our Resources page for some wonderful websites to use.

VISAS programming resumes on Monday, March 12th.
