VISAS Volunteer Orientation

Tonight, Monroe 130, 7:00 – 9:00 


The VISAS Volunteer Orientation will take place tonight from 7:30-9:00 PM in Monroe 130! You will have the opportunity to get a short introduction to VISAS, meet your fellow volunteers, and get instruction and advice from your program directors. We look forward to meeting you.

Happy New Year and Welcome Back! 


All of us at VISAS are very excited to kick off our spring semester of English language learning and International conversation exchanges.

As you plan your spring semester activities please take note of the following VISAS dates and activities:

February 1st: Volunteer application deadline (apply here)
February 3rd: International Participant deadline for VISAS Language Consultant Program (apply here)
February 9th: Volunteer Orientation (Monroe Hall Room 130, 7:30-9:00pm)
February 11th: International Mixer (Minor Hall Lobby 7-8pm)
February 15th: ALL SPRING VISAS Programs Launch
February 16th: VISAS English Drop-In Cafe begins (New Cabell Room 232, 7-8pm)

Fall 2015 Wrap-Up

Now that the Fall semester has come to a close, we would like to conclude with a few announcements.

To our volunteers: Thank you for your hard work as part of our record-breaking year of over 400 volunteers and participants! From your LC meetings to Workplace conversation classes, you have helped create a warm, welcoming, and vibrant environment for our international community. We would love you to continue with us for another semester. If you plan on returning, please fill out the form here.

To our participants: Thank you for your enthusiasm and dedication all semester long; we have heard outstanding reports of your progress and perseverance. We have very much enjoyed working with you. If you are interested in continuing with the LC program next semester, please fill out the form here.

Volunteer Appreciation Night at the Drop-In English Café

Thanks for a great semester, VISAS! 

Our Drop-In English Café will be hosting a Volunteer Appreciation Night this Tuesday, December 1st from 7-8 PM in New Cabell Hall room 232.

Stop by to mix and mingle with VISAS while chatting, playing games, snacking, and letting our volunteers know just how much they are appreciated for their hard work and dedication.

Our program depends so much on individuals who commit their time and effort to making VISAS a success, so we hope to see you there!

VISAS EVENTS AND TRAINING ORIENTATION

VISAS orientation & training is
TONIGHT in Monroe Hall from 7:30 PM – 9:00 PM!


If you cannot make this training due to class or some other unavoidable conflict, we will contact you to set up a make-up training.

Please keep in mind that our International Mixer is also this week. This optional event is on Thursday, September 24th from 7:00-8:00pm in the Newcomb Hall Ballroom. This will be a great time to mingle with other volunteers and international students who are involved in the VISAS programs.
